How must I then Breathe?
Pillar One
Being
Being is the foundation of identity.
It begins with the question: Who am I?
Being explores the core of who we are beyond skin colour, status, achievement, or the labels society places upon us. It asks what is true and enduring about our identity in a world that often tries to define people by outward markers rather than inner worth. It is about essence, dignity, value, and the truth of personhood.
The Framework Explained
A threefold framework for understanding personal identity through Being, Belonging, and Believing. These three dimensions help us explore who we are, where we are rooted, and what truth guides the way we live.
Pillar Two
Belonging
Belonging is how we relate and create.
It asks: Where do I find home?
Belonging considers the spaces of family, friendship, community, and the church. It reflects on the places where we feel seen, known, and valued, as well as the barriers that keep people from fully belonging. It is also a place of increase, nurture, and contribution, where relationships grow, lives are shaped, and people participate in building both the human family and the body of Christ.
Pillar Three
Believing
Believing is how we breathe.
It asks: What truth will guide my life?
Believing concerns worldview, convictions, and the assumptions that shape our daily choices. It is about the faith, values, and truths that sustain us, empower us, and direct our calling. What we truly believe becomes the atmosphere in which we live, move, and pursue our destiny.
